Crypto Tenbagger Candidates for 2027: HYPE, ONDO, ZEC, XMR, XPL and the Polymarket Airdrop
Which coins could still do a 10x? We screen Hyperliquid, Ondo, Zcash, Monero and Plasma, plus the Polymarket airdrop, by theme, leadership, usage and room to run.
For information only. This is not investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Crypto assets are extremely volatile and can lose most or all of their value. Figures may already be out of date. Do your own research.
Where the market stands
The best 10x setups usually appear when nobody is excited, and October 2026 is that kind of market. As of October 18, Bitcoin trades near $82,000 and Ether near $2,409, with ETH down about 5% in a week. Bitcoin dominance is rising, BTC volatility sits at a 2.5-year low, and the altcoin rally has faded.
That is not a reason to chase. It is a reason to build a watchlist. Most of history's crypto tenbaggers were bought in quiet stretches like this one, before the crowd noticed that usage had already arrived.

How we picked
Every past tenbagger shared one trait: it led a brand-new category whose usage was already real before the token repriced. Ethereum led smart contracts, BNB led exchanges, Uniswap and Aave led DeFi, Solana led fast chains, and Hyperliquid led onchain perpetuals. The runners-up in each category mostly faded.
So each candidate below had to pass four screens:
- A theme backed by institutional research. It appears in Grayscale's 2026 outlook or Galaxy Research's 2026 predictions.
- Category leadership. It is the No. 1 or a clear contender in its niche.
- Measurable usage. Fees, revenue, deposits or transaction volume that can be checked.
- Room to run. A market value small enough that 10x is arithmetically plausible, or a price far below its peak.
A tenbagger is never a forecast. These are the setups where 10x is possible, not likely.
The candidates
Five tokens pass the screens, ranked from safest to most speculative. Prices are the latest figures available when this was written; check live prices before acting.
| Token | Category | Price (as of) | Market cap | Key evidence | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hyperliquid (HYPE) | Onchain perpetuals | $90.10 (Sep 28) | $19.96B | ~$900M/yr in buybacks from fees and USDC yield | Lower |
| Ondo (ONDO) | Tokenized stocks and treasuries | $0.448 (recent) | $2.15B | $4.13B onchain AUM; 79% below its $2.13 high | Medium |
| Zcash (ZEC) | Privacy | Check live | — | A Grayscale 2026 theme in two categories | Medium |
| Monero (XMR) | Privacy | $590.55 (Oct 19) | ~$11B | +11.3% in a week while majors fell | Medium |
| Plasma (XPL) | Stablecoin chain | $0.078 (recent) | $356M | Tether-backed; 95% below its $1.68 high | High |

Hyperliquid (HYPE): the fundamentals leader
Hyperliquid is the top onchain derivatives exchange, and almost all trading fees buy HYPE back from the market. Fee-funded buybacks run about $771M a year, and a new USDC reserve yield stream adds an estimated $135M to $160M.
CoinShares models a 2031 base case of about $147 and a bull case of about $456 per HYPE. At roughly $20B today, 10x would need a $200B valuation, so a 2x to 5x is the realistic range. It earns its place as the anchor, not the moonshot.
Ondo (ONDO): tokenization at a discount
Ondo is the leading issuer of tokenized Treasuries and US stocks, with $4.13B in onchain assets. Its tokenized-stock platform passed $1B in eight months, and an Ondo executive expects $5B by year-end.
Grayscale calls tokenization an inflection point, with roughly 1,000x growth by 2030 "not surprising". Yet ONDO trades 79% below its high. The catch: much of the growth flows to products, not directly to the token.
Zcash (ZEC) and Monero (XMR): privacy with momentum
Privacy is one of the few sectors rising in a weak market. Grayscale lists ZEC under both its monetary-alternatives and privacy themes. Monero gained 11.3% in a week and is testing $600 for the third time since September, with $635 as the breakout level.
ZEC already rose more than tenfold in 2025, so this is trend-following, not bottom-fishing. Exchange delistings under privacy regulation are the main threat.
Plasma (XPL): the high-risk stablecoin bet
Plasma is a Tether-aligned blockchain built for zero-fee USDT payments. It drew nearly $5B in deposits days after its September 2025 launch. Grayscale names XPL in its stablecoin theme, and stablecoin supply is near $300B.
The token has since fallen 95% to about $0.078. If stablecoin chains become the next category winner, a $356M valuation leaves the most room for 10x. If incentives were the only reason capital came, it can keep falling.
The airdrop angle: Polymarket (POLY)
The cheapest tenbagger is one you earn instead of buy. Polymarket's CMO confirmed in October 2025: "There will be a token, there will be an airdrop," with the focus turning to the token after the US app launch. No date or eligibility rules have been published.
The setup mirrors Hyperliquid, whose early users received the largest rewards. Galaxy Research expects prediction markets to exceed $1.5B in weekly volume.
- US readers: use the CFTC-regulated Polymarket US. Never use a VPN for the international site; it breaks the terms and can void eligibility.
- Open question: whether US activity will count toward the airdrop is not confirmed.
- Keep it small: trade real markets across categories with an amount you can afford to lose. Wash trading and multiple accounts are the classic ways to get disqualified.
Risks and position sizing
Most tokens that look like the next winner end up as the also-ran. Size every position so being wrong is survivable.
| Token | Suggested share of a crypto portfolio | What would break the thesis |
|---|---|---|
| HYPE | Core, up to 10–15% | Fee volume falls, or a rival perps exchange takes share |
| ONDO | 5–10% | Tokenized-asset growth keeps bypassing the token |
| ZEC / XMR | 5% combined | Major exchange delistings or a failed $635 breakout for XMR |
| XPL | 2–3% | Stablecoin deposits keep leaving Plasma |
| POLY airdrop | Small trading balance only | US users excluded, or the airdrop never ships |
These shares are illustrative, not advice. Buy in tranches rather than all at once, set exit rules before entering, and never borrow to chase a 10x.
Bottom line
If one of these becomes the next tenbagger, Plasma has the most room and Polymarket's airdrop has the best risk-reward. Hyperliquid has the strongest fundamentals, but at about $20B it is a compounder, not a 10x. Ondo and the privacy coins sit in between.
The pattern from 2015 to 2025 is clear: lead a new category, prove real usage, then reprice. Watch for that sequence, not for hype.
